Reverse description Central device depicts the celebrated Pillars of Hercules design: two crowned columns rising from a stylized globe or sea, each column wound with a scroll bearing the motto PLUS VLTRA, flanking a central royal crown above the hemispheres. The mint mark Mº appears to the lower left and right of the central device. The date 1732 is prominently placed in the lower exergual area, while the circular Latin legend VTRAQUE VNUM — meaning 'Both as One,' alluding to the union of the Old and New Worlds — runs along the upper periphery, punctuated by small star or rosette separators.
