| Obverse description | Crowned Spanish royal arms occupying the central field, displaying the quartered escutcheon of Castile and León, with the royal legend and date disposed around the periphery. The mintmark, assayer initial, and denomination indicator appear in the field alongside the date. As is characteristic of cob coinage (macuquina), the flan is irregular and the strike is typically partial, resulting in incomplete legends and design elements. The legend reads PHILIPPVS V D G with the Mexico City mint mark Mo, assayer initial J, and the denomination mark I. |
