Obverse description Crowned bust of Carlos II facing right, with long flowing hair, set within a dotted inner circle. The king is depicted in a stylized medieval manner characteristic of Valencian hammered coinage of the late 17th century. The royal crown is prominently rendered above the head. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading '+ CAROLVS · II · DEI · GRACIA · REX', with the legend separated from the outer rim by a beaded border.
