The denomination mark '1R' appears to the lower left of the shield, with the assayer initial 'D' and mint mark 'So' (Santiago) also present in the field. The surrounding legend reads HISPAN ET IND REX, identifying the monarch as King of the Spains and the Indies, with the assayer initials 'DA' completing the inscription.
