Reverse description The crowned Royal Arms of Spain occupy the central field, displaying the quartered shield with castles and lions, with a central escutcheon bearing the French fleur-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty. The shield is flanked on either side by the Pillars of Hercules, each entwined with a banner. The circumferential legend HISPAN·ET IND·REX is distributed around the upper periphery, while the mint mark PTS and assayer initials PR appear in the lower field beneath the shield.
