Reverse description The crowned Royal Arms of Spain at center, featuring the quartered shield with castles and lions, with the Pillars of Hercules flanking on either side, each column draped with a banner. The denomination indicator '1 R' and assayer initials appear in the field to the left and right of the pillars respectively. The circular legend HISPAN ET IND REX surrounds the design, with the mint mark PTS and assayer initials completing the inscription. The entire device is executed in crisp relief typical of the Potosí macuquina milled series.
