| Obverse description | Two crossed arrows in saltire occupy the central field, with the provincial initials 'S' and 'E' placed in the upper-left and upper-right angles respectively. The date 1836 appears in large numerals along the lower portion of the field below the crossed arrows. The design is rendered in a primitive, hand-engraved style characteristic of provincial Argentine coinage of the period. A reeded border frames the entire design. |
