| Obverse description | Central field features the quartered cantonal shield of Schwyz — displaying vertical stripes surmounted by a small cross — set within an oval cartouche. The shield is framed by ornate scrollwork and foliate volutes, with two symmetrical branches of foliage extending from either side. A fine beaded border encircles the entire design. The composition is rendered in a bold, relief style characteristic of early nineteenth-century Swiss cantonal coinage. |
