| Obverse description | Central field bears a standing or enthroned figure, crudely rendered in the hammered medieval style typical of minor Italian lordship coinage. The design is contained within a plain inner circle, with the peripheral legend reading K D ARImInI in uncial Latin characters, abbreviated from 'Karolus Dominus Arimini' (Charles, Lord of Rimini). The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hand-struck billon issues of the late 14th to early 15th century.
