| Obverse description | Within a beaded border, a decagonal heraldic shield bearing a crowned bucranium (ox head). The shield is irregularly shaped with pointed lobes at its base, characteristic of Italian Renaissance design. A circular Latin legend surrounds the shield in the outer field. The overall striking is typical of hammered coinage, with some weakness and irregularity in the flan. |

| Reverse description | Within a border of pellets or grain, a thorny tree in full bloom with stylized intertwined branches, flanked by decorative volutes or scroll-like ornaments. This emblematic device, characteristic of the Correggio coinage of this period, fills the central field. The composition reflects the Italian Renaissance taste for heraldic and naturalistic imagery on small copper coinage. The flan is irregular and the strike uneven, as is typical of hammered quattrini of this issue. |
