Reverse description The reverse presents a finely struck scene of the Annunciation: the Archangel Gabriel, depicted in flowing robes and approaching from the left with outstretched hand, addresses the Virgin Mary, who is shown kneeling or seated at right in a posture of humble reception. A second angelic figure is visible in the upper right field. The scene is set within a plain inner field beneath a shallow architectural element. The surrounding legend, punctuated by pellet stops, reads MISIT DOMINUS ANGELUM SUUM (He sent His angel), with ROMA appearing in the lower exergual area, all enclosed within a rope-pattern border.
