Obverse description A frog rendered in relief in the central field, depicted in a naturalistic yet archaic style characteristic of early Central Italian aes grave coinage. Three pellets, serving as value marks denoting the quadrans denomination, are arranged around the frog in the field. The flan is irregular and thick, consistent with the heavy cast bronze series of this period.
