Obverse description Right-facing effigy of King Idris I, depicted as a draped bust wearing a traditional fez with a band, rendered in high relief in the style of sculptor Paul Vincze. The king's beard and facial features are finely detailed. Arabic legends flank the portrait on both sides of the field, with the engraver's initials 'P.V.' incuse at the base of the bust. A toothed border frames the entire design.
