| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the elaborately calligraphed tughra of Sultan Abdulmecid I, executed in the ornate Ottoman style with tall vertical strokes (elif) and sweeping horizontal loops (beyze), rendered in raised relief against a plain field. To the right of the tughra, a sprig or floral ornament is depicted. The denomination numeral appears below the tughra. The coin's border is formed by a continuous reeded or beaded inner rim. |
