Obverse description Central field bears the elaborate Ottoman tughra (imperial cipher) of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, rendered in fine relief with characteristic interlaced calligraphic strokes and vertical shafts. A decorative floral and foliate wreath encircles the tughra, composed of stylized blossoms, leaves, and scrolling vine motifs extending around the entire inner border. The Arabic denomination numeral and abbreviation for qirsh appear in the lower field beneath the tughra. The overall design is executed in a refined Ottoman decorative style typical of late 19th-century Egyptian coinage.
