Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Naser al-Din Shah wearing the jewelled Qajar crown, set within an open wreath of olive branches at the base of the field. Two cartouches flank the portrait: the right cartouche bears the royal title and the left bears additional inscriptions in Nastaliq script. The composition is characteristic of early Qajar portraiture, rendered in low relief with fine detailing on the royal regalia.

Reverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic legend in Nastaliq script giving the mint name and regnal date, enclosed within a wreath of olive branches that frames the entire design. The date AH 1272 appears prominently at the base of the inscription. The wreath is rendered with fine detail, with individual leaves clearly delineated, and a small decorative element crowns the topmost line of the legend.
