| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a bold, calligraphic Arabic-script legend in the Nasta'liq style, reading the royal titulature of Naser al-Din Shah. The inscription is arranged in sweeping, interlocking lines filling the inner circle, accentuated by small rosette and dot ornaments scattered throughout the field. A raised inner border ring separates the central legend from the outer wreath zone, which consists of a continuous foliate wreath of stylized oak leaves and berry clusters rendered in high relief. The overall composition is characteristic of Qajar milled coinage of the latter nineteenth century. |
