Reverse description The reverse displays a four-quadrant (chahar bagh) design created by two intersecting broad strokes of Nastaliq calligraphy, dividing the field into four sections each containing elements of the mint and date inscription. The legend records the mint city of Yazd (Dar al-Ibada, 'Abode of Worship') and the AH regnal year 1246. Decorative floral rosettes punctuate the spaces between the calligraphic strokes, consistent with Qajar decorative conventions. A beaded border frames the entire reverse design. The arrangement and style are characteristic of the Type E classification of Fath Ali Shah's Qiran coinage as struck at the Yazd mint.
