Reverse description Central field bearing the mint and issue legend in bold Nasta'liq script, reading 'Zarb Dar al-Mu'minin Shushtar', identifying the city of Shushtar as the place of minting with its honorific title 'Abode of the Faithful'. The inscription is arranged in sweeping diagonal bands across the flan in a style consistent with Qajar provincial coinage of the period. A border of raised pellets runs along the coin's periphery, enclosing the design. Delicate floral sprays and foliate ornaments fill the remaining field, typical of the decorative vocabulary employed at Qajar provincial mints.
