Obverse description The obverse presents the characteristic design of the Bohemian Prague Groschen, featuring a crowned lion of Bohemia rampant within a double beaded inner circle. The field surrounding the lion is encircled by a Gothic uncial legend reading the royal titulature. The coin exhibits the broad, thin flan typical of hammered Prague Groschen struck at Kutná Hora, with characteristic irregular edges resulting from hand-striking. A counterstamp applied by the city of Isny is visible in the central field, punched over the original design.
