Obverse description Central field displays the Nördlingen city counterstamp — a small punched mark applied over the original Prague Groschen host coin — surrounded by the heavily worn remnants of the original Bohemian royal legend in Gothic uncial script. The counterstamp is irregular in form, consistent with hand-applied municipal validation punches of the late 14th to early 15th century. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, with significant surface wear and patination typical of heavily circulated hammered silver. The underlying design elements of the Prague Groschen host coin, including traces of the Bohemian lion, are partially visible beneath the counterstamp.
