Obverse description Obverse of the underlying Prague Groschen of Wenceslaus II, struck at the Prague Mint, featuring a crowned royal effigy or Bohemian lion device in the central field, surrounded by a beaded inner circle. The legend WENCEZLAVS II DEI GRATIA REX BOEMIE runs in the outer border in Gothic uncial lettering. Applied prominently over the original design is the Schwäbisch Hall countermark, consisting of the city's characteristic hand device punched into the field, partially obscuring the host coin's details. The flan is irregular and shows typical hammered fabric with surface wear consistent with extended circulation.
