| Obverse description | The upper centre carries the Isle of Man royal arms with lion and horse supporters, surmounted by a crown and bearing the motto DIEU ET MON DROIT, flanked by the bank title WESTMINSTER BANK LIMITED in large intaglio lettering across the top. Elaborate guilloche borders and scalloped frames surround the note, with sterling £1 numerals in ornate cartouches at lower left and right, and a central panel in italic script stating the promise to pay the bearer on demand ONE POUND at the Douglas office in terms of the Act of Tynwald. Two manuscript signatures appear at the foot, one for the Chief Clerk and one for the Manager, with the place and date of issue printed at centre. |

| Reverse description | Printed in deep blue, the reverse is dominated by a large central vignette of the Manx triskelion — three armoured legs in motion — enclosed within a circular guilloche border bearing the motto QUOCUNQUE JECERIS STABIT. The bank title WESTMINSTER BANK LIMITED and the address HEAD OFFICE: 41, LOTHBURY, LONDON appear above the central vignette, while ONE POUND is set in bold letterpress along the lower margin. Symmetrical £1 numerals in elaborate guilloche rosettes occupy the left and right panels, and the printer's imprint of Waterlow & Sons Limited, London appears at the foot. |
