Obverse description Plain unbordered note printed in black on aged laid paper, entirely typeset and engraved in an ornate copperplate script. The bank title "Jersey Bank" is set in an elaborate calligraphic vignette at the top centre, flanked on each side by serial number panels. The promise-to-pay clause and denomination "One Pound" are rendered in flowing script, with a small letterpress panel at lower left enclosing the word "One" in bold blackletter, bearing the engraver's imprint "Hamon sculpt" below it. The date, payability clause, and the manuscript signature of George Syvret with a wax seal appear in the lower portion.
