The badge is encircled by laurel branches on either side. The Arabic legend 'اليوبيل الذهبى لعيد الشرطة' (Golden Jubilee of Police Day) curves along the upper field. To the left, the date '٢٥ يناير ٢٠٠٢م' and to the right '٢٥ يناير ١٩٥٢م', commemorating both the jubilee year and its fiftieth anniversary origin. Additional information

Egypt's Police Day on January 25th carries an irony that sharpened considerably after 2011, when the date was adopted by protesters who chose it precisely because of documented police abuses — ultimately becoming the spark date of the revolution that removed Mubarak. This 2002 issue predates that rupture by nearly a decade, struck when the Interior Ministry's jubilee was straightforward state ceremony rather than contested symbolism.

The .875 fineness places it in the traditional 21-karat standard long preferred by Egyptian state gold issues.
