| Obverse description | The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Jody Clark, occupies the centre of the obverse field, depicting a right-facing crowned bust of the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem, with a drop earring visible at the ear. The portrait is rendered with fine detail in a naturalistic style, marking the first Royal Mint-commissioned royal portrait since the reign of Edward VIII.
