Obverse description The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Jody Clark, occupies the centre of the obverse field, depicting a right-facing crowned bust of the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem, with a drop earring visible at the ear. The portrait is rendered with fine detail in a naturalistic style, marking the first Royal Mint-commissioned royal portrait since the reign of Edward VIII. The circumferential Latin legend reads ELIZABETH II DEI GRA REG FID DEF 2015, interrupted by spaced dots as dividers, with the engraver's initials J.C. incuse below the truncation of the bust.
