| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, drop earring, and pearl necklace, rendered in fine relief against a mirror-polished field. The portrait, engraved by Joel Iskowitz, depicts the Queen in mature likeness with elaborately styled hair. The circular legend reads ELIZABETH · II · DEI · GRA REGINA · ALDERNEY C.I., divided around the bust, with the date 2018 appearing in the lower exergue. A horizontal band across the centre bears the inscription 1914 WWI CENTENARY 1918, separating the upright scene above from its mirror reflection below, in which a poppy motif appears in the lower central field as a symbol of remembrance.
