Reverse description The allegorical figure of Britannia is depicted seated and facing right, holding a trident in her raised right hand and an olive branch in her left hand, with a lion couchant at her feet. The composition, engraved by Christopher Le Brun, presents Britannia in a classical, majestic posture against a plain field. The legend HALF OUNCE FINE SILVER BRITANNIA arcs around the upper periphery, with the date appearing in the exergue. The engraver's initials CLB are inscribed to the lower right of the design.
