Reverse description Central device depicts the spade-shaped Royal Arms shield surmounted by the Royal Crown, closely modelled on the reverse of the historic George III spade guinea. The quartered shield displays the arms of England (three passant guardant lions), Scotland (lion rampant), France (three fleurs-de-lis), and Ireland (harp), with a small escutcheon of Hanover at centre. The surrounding legend reads 'ONE OUNCE · GUINEA · 999 SILVER' arranged around the periphery, with the East India Company mintmark monogram appearing at the base of the design below the shield. A raised beaded border frames the inner field, which carries the same guilloche background as the obverse.
