Obverse description The national coat of arms of the Republic of Cyprus occupies the central field, depicting a dove in flight carrying an olive branch with the founding year 1960 inscribed below. The arms are flanked by two laurel sprigs curving upward to frame the design. The country name appears in three languages in the legend: 'CYPRUS' in Latin script, 'ΚΥΠΡΟΣ' in Greek script, and 'KIBRIS' in Turkish, with the date 2006 also present in the legend.

Reverse description A detailed botanical composition depicts Centaurea akamantis, an endemic flowering plant of the Akamas peninsula of Cyprus, rendered in fine relief at center. The face value '£1' appears to the left of the floral motif within the field. The design is executed in a naturalistic artistic style characteristic of Cypriot commemorative coinage, with the plant's distinctive thistle-like flower head and foliage faithfully represented.
