Obverse description The face is executed entirely in copperplate intaglio script, with the bank title 'Bewdley Bank' set in large ornamental letterpress across the upper centre and a small heraldic vignette enclosing an interlaced monogram within an engraved decorative surround at upper left. The promise text, rendered in flowing copperplate, reads 'Promise to pay the Bearer on Demand One Pound', with the word 'One' repeated in bold stylised letterform at lower left. The issuing firm's name, manuscript date, and a handwritten authorising signature occupy the lower portion of the note.
