Obverse description Plain typeset note with an oval vignette in the upper left containing the seated figure of Hibernia beneath a crown. The denomination ONE POUND appears twice in oval cartouches at upper right and lower left, with the issuer name BANK OF IRELAND in bold letterpress across the centre. The note carries manuscript date, serial number, and two handwritten signatures at the foot, with a guilloche border of repeated scroll ornaments running along the upper edge.
