Bradbury Wilkinson printed this note from their New Malden facility, which handled the bulk of British colonial and Commonwealth currency work through the postwar decades. Western Samoa gained independence in 1962 — this pound note therefore belongs to a very brief window, as the country converted to the tālā and sene decimal system in 1967, replacing the pound at a rate of two tālā to one pound.

The date range on P#14 extending to 2020 almost certainly reflects catalog uncertainty about surviving dated specimens rather than actual issue through that year. The pound series was definitively superseded within five years of first issue.
