Obverse description Red and blue intaglio-printed note with a central vignette of a standing camel. At left, a pharaonic bust vignette in red; at right, a bust of an Egyptian queen. The promise-to-pay text in English and Arabic occupies the central panel, with the denomination ONE EGYPTIAN POUND and date CAIRO 4TH SEPTEMBER 1924 printed below. A guilloche underprint in blue fills the background, and the serial number appears three times across the note.

Reverse description Blue and red note centred on a large ornate NBE monogram within a circular guilloche rosette in red. Flanking guilloche roundels carry the numeral 1 at left and a crescent-and-star vignette at right. The upper border bears an Arabic inscription in red, and the overall design is framed by an intricate blue guilloche border with floral corner ornaments. The printer's imprint appears at the foot of the note.
