Reverse description
Depicts a rendition of Una and the Lion, wherein the Queen takes the role of Una, and the lion represents the British People. Based upon the poem, “The Faerie Queen,” by Edmund Spenser. The design was first used by designer William Wyon in 1839 to commemorate the beginning of Queen Victoria’s reign.
