Obverse description A large imperial crown occupies the upper half of the field, rendered in primitive hammered style with two arches and orb finial. Immediately below the crown, the numeral 1 — denoting the denomination — is flanked on either side by the date elements, forming the date 1708 across the lower field. The design is stark and utilitarian, consistent with emergency coinage produced under wartime conditions, with no surrounding legend.
