Obverse description Frontal depiction of a crowned king enthroned upon a bench-type throne, holding a royal mace upright in his right hand and a cross in his left. The figure is rendered in the flat, stylized manner characteristic of Armenian hammered coinage of the early fourteenth century. An Armenian legend arcs around the periphery of the broadly struck, irregular flan, partially visible at the border.
