Obverse description Central field occupied by the civic arms of Breisach: a Gothic shield bearing three ostrich plumes issuing from a coronet, rendered in bold relief. The shield is set within a lozenge-shaped cartouche formed by two intersecting curved lines. A beaded inner circle surrounds the heraldic device, with an uncial Gothic legend encircling the periphery, reading partially as BREISACH or similar civic inscription. The overall execution is characteristic of late 15th-century Upper Rhenish municipal coinage.
