Obverse description Central field bearing a three-line Arabic inscription in raised relief, reading the royal titulature of Sultan Zain al-Abadin Muazzam Shah. The script is cast in a characteristic Southeast Asian Jawi style, with broad, rounded letterforms typical of Sumatran tin coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, consistent with the primitive casting technique employed. A small casting hole or void is visible near the lower field, a common feature of this series.
