| Obverse description | Cast tin coin with a large central round hole surrounded by incuse Arabic legends filling the annular field. The inscription, rendered in flowing Jawi-influenced Arabic script, reads the authority of the ruler over the land of Patani together with the Hijri date 1309, arranged in an ornamental circular composition around the perforation. The rough, textured surface is characteristic of traditional Southeast Asian cast tin coinage. The lettering is deeply recessed into the field, presenting a bold incuse appearance typical of Patani pitis issues. |
