The legend reads 'السلطان العادل' (al-Sultan al-Adil, meaning 'The Just Sultan'), struck in a crude but legible Naskh script typical of early Malay Sultanate coinage. The strike is uneven due to the hammered technique, and the flan edges are characteristically jagged and irregular. No border ornament or additional device is present; the entire reverse field is occupied by the religious-honorific titulature of the issuing sultan. |
