Obverse description Right-facing laureate and draped bust of Frederick I, King of Prussia, rendered in high relief with elaborately curled long hair falling to the shoulders in the Baroque manner. The portrait is finely engraved with naturalistic facial features and a strong profile. The mint master's initials I·P· appear in the lower field beneath the bust truncation. The encircling Latin legend, separated from the portrait by a plain inner border, runs continuously around the periphery and is bounded by a beaded outer rim.
