| Obverse description | Intaglio portrait vignette of Jose Rizal facing right occupies the left field, set against fine guilloche underprint in olive and orange tones, with the circular Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas seal of 1949 at centre. Large numeral '1' appears in bold relief at the upper left and lower right corners, while two facsimile signatures appear below centre, attributed respectively to the Pangulo ng Pilipinas and the Tagapangasiwa ng Bangko Sentral. The denomination 'PISO' is letterpress-printed in large block characters at the lower centre. |
