Reverse description The denomination 'Ek Pai Sikka' (One Paisa, current coin) is inscribed in three scripts arranged in three horizontal registers, each presenting the same legend in a different language: Bengali in the uppermost register, Persian (Nastaliq) in the central register, and Devanagari (Hindi) in the lower register. The trilingual format reflects the administrative and commercial multilingualism of the Bengal Presidency. The lettering is bold and deeply struck, occupying the full field of the flan with no additional decorative elements. No mintmark or date appears on this face.
