Additional information

Pakistan's decimal coinage transition was formalized with the Coinage Act of 1961, but pattern strikes were being produced and evaluated well before that date. This brass pice pattern from 1959 represents part of that pre-decimalization testing phase, when multiple compositions and specifications were circulated among government and mint officials for approval. The KM# Pn1 designation confirms it as the first catalogued pattern in the Pakistan series — very few were struck, and fewer still escaped institutional hands.
