Reverse description The reverse annular field, surrounding the central circular hole, is entirely occupied by a continuous circular wreath of stylised scrolling foliage. The ornament comprises large lobed acanthus-like leaves with finely incised veining and curling tendrils, rendered in high relief and arranged in formal bilateral symmetry. The botanical composition extends across the full width of the annular field from the inner rim of the perforation to the outer border. No legend or inscription appears on the reverse. Both the outer periphery and the inner edge of the central hole are defined by uniform dentilated rims.
