Obverse description A plain long cross extends to the coin's edge, dividing the field into four quarters and bisecting an inner beaded circle. The legend AQLEGIA is distributed within the quarters formed by the cross and the beaded border. The overall design is characteristic of medieval Italian billon piccoli, struck on an irregular flan with variable centering.
Obverse script Latin

Reverse description A short cross pattée is depicted at the center of the design, enclosed within an inner beaded circle. The surrounding legend, referencing Patriarch Gregory, runs along the outer field between the beaded circle and the coin's edge. The cross pattée arms are squat and well-defined, consistent with ecclesiastical coinage of the mid-thirteenth century Patriarchate of Aquileia.
