| Reverse description | Central cartouche of cusped, lantern-shaped outline encloses the denomination numeral '1' above the inscription PIASTRE, with the date 1931 displayed below in the lower portion of the cartouche. The cartouche is surrounded by an elaborate Orientalist decorative border composed of interlaced geometric and floral motifs, including beaded rings, foliate scrollwork, and arabesque patterns, reflecting the Indochinese artistic influence intended for colonial circulation. The legend INDOCHINE FRANÇAISE arcs around the upper periphery, partially visible on this segment piece. The coin is preserved as an irregular segment, retaining approximately two-thirds of the original flan. |
