| Obverse description | Bust of Pope Innocent XI facing right, wearing the camauro cap and richly embroidered papal vestments with an elaborately decorated morse at center. The portrait is rendered in high relief in a naturalistic Baroque style. The circular Latin legend INNOCEN XI PONT MAX AN I runs along the inner border of the toothed outer rim, interrupted by small lozenge stops. The engraver's signature I. HAMERANVS P. appears in small letters in the lower field beneath the truncation of the bust. |
