Obverse description Quartered shield of arms of the Abbey of Fulda, surmounted by a princely crown, supported by two lions rampant as supporters on either side. The upper quarters display the arms of the abbey (a cross or similar ecclesiastical device) alternating with the territorial arms, while the lower quarters bear additional heraldic charges including a fleur-de-lis in the base quarter. The shield is set within a beaded border with a milled edge surround.
